As this year comes to an end and I begin to gear up for 2022, Ive naturally been doing a lot of self reflection. 2021 was a tough year for me. Probably the toughest year of my adult life. It started out with the passing of my father in January. After that life just kept swinging. I continue to cherish my blessings because things could definitely be worse. It’s just been a shift. Prior to this year, I’ve always felt like I had things pretty much together. Even when there were bumps in the road, I was able to navigate back. This year shook me entirely. I think self reflection has helped me to better put things into perspective. Continuous elevation and learning will never end.
Here are a few things I’ve learned this year:
People are who they are, not who you want them to be.
Be solid with yourself!
Bet on yourself 100% of the time.
Go to Therapy!
Communicate your feelings and intentions.
Fuck what they talking bout…
Your gut is always accurate.
Getting to know yourself on a deeper level will help you to thrive.
Appreciate where you are in your journey, even if it’s not where you thought you would be.
You ARE GOOD ENOUGH!
Grieve for as long as you need to.
Continue to develop & hone in on your pockets of peace.
Trust in God and know that this feeling is just for a season!
I pray that everyone has a great holiday season and a Happy New Year!
